Dear Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of
your letter of August 10th, 1938, in the beginning of
September, 1938.
Just for the same time I had a bad accident on
climbing to the highest point of the Colony, 10,000 feet.

illness acute dilatation of the heart.
Confined to bed
during near three months, my health has improved slowly and
I had to postpone the answer to meny lettera.
I must apologise for not answering your letter
in time, but I nope you will agree that I was forced to do
it.
In reference to the subject of your letter I can
inform you that the visit of är. Nonomura has confirmed
your opinion that his main objet is to extend the influence
of the Nanyo Kohatsu Kaisha.
He is not a gentleman nora diplomat.
I
received nim according his social position and I invited
him to an official dinner party. But in course of the
official conversations he has demonstrated not to be
capable for his job. He has insisted in the simple
approval of the contract with Sociedade Agricola in such a
way that I was forced to contradict and declare that the
